Having been home for few days but I had not helped my parents anything, I stayed in front of my laptop searching for jobs and chatting instead. This afternoon was awesome indeed, not only was the weather good but also i have done somethings useful.
Here, Daknong - in the highland of Vietnam, is in its rainy season, it's also the good time for farmers to grow trees. Mostly, in this area we grow industrial trees which are coffees, peppers, and rubbers. And guess what this afternoon i helped my parents plant small peppers trees. On average, from planting time to harvest peppers need 2-3 years. I understand how hard my parents have to work on the field everyday and wait for the crop once a year. Farmers who grow industrial trees not like others who grow rice and food crops only can harvest once a year, and all the labor and sweat will exchange for a short harvest. This comes to difficulty when they have to calculate the budget carefully for fertilizers, pesticides, and their own family as well.
Living in a farmer family i also had to work when i was small, starting with small household works to farming activities. Since grade 10 i've spent most of the time studying far away from home and i've seldom helped my parents on field. This short afternoon just reminds me that life is not easy and my parents are working hard to support me, i need to grow bigger everyday and soon get back to them.
