Getting Into A New Habbit

Habits are something we build by repeating them over and over again and somehow it will soon become a part of our life. With good habit people can live happier and more sucessfull but with the bad ones it might lead to misery or unhappy life in some cases.
I am building a new habit starting since today that is writing something everyday in order to boost my writting skill. Although I used to enjoy writing as a habit quite long time ago, but i could not keep this for a long because of distraction. Thus, to date i am still struggling to be better at my writing.
Sometimes I think it would be a big different between academic writing and normal/nonacademic writing and that is true even in the words or style. The problem is i am more likely to use normal language than formal one as i often prefer to speaking than writing. I would like to express my feeling in Enlgish and somehow it could not be something like academic wrtiting. I have thought of that for quite long time as apart from enhancing my writing in general I am preparing for my Ielts exam which highly demands formal style.
However, it could be really valuable if I would show my ideas clearly with the right words instead of using some academic vocab and being awkward.
That's all for today writing the first piece of the good habit has been built.
